I’m Camille, founder and principal designer of Alegria Design Company. My path to design was an unconventional journey. The first fifteen years of my professional life was spent as a critical care provider. Spending long hours in the hospital while designing new homes and remodeling spaces for family and friends. I had immense satisfaction in treating patients but the long hours, missed time with family and overwhelming joy I felt each time a bathroom was remodeled or a kitchen was demo’d told me a pivot was brewing.

Looking back, the foundation of my creative path was built, even if I didn’t see it in the beginning. My entire childhood I was active in 4-H, designing and sewing outfits. The process of sketching, choosing materials and bringing a vision to life was so natural. My designs were modeled and entered in local and state competitions where numerous awards were won, including my first sewing machine. If I wasn’t designing an ensemble I could often be found reviewing an assortment of project plans from my step father who was an architect and structural engineer. An immersion of fascination in a house designed with zero waste or in all of the sketches in church, pretending they were sermon notes. This spark evolved into a true passion for creating meaningful, beautiful and intentional spaces.
